My appointment involved quite a bit of gum pain with cleaning but then there was already gum inflammation so to be expected. Numbing gel helped early on but oddly enough after the polishing was done the flossing process became the most brutal. The power of the downward force needed to get floss through my teeth, slammed into my gums with equal force. There was no effort to moderate the force or use other techniques to prevent trauma to my gums. I have never experienced this much pain with flossing. Each & every snapping impact was painful and stunning. It is 5 hours later and my gums are still aching.
